Chicago called the “Windy City” also the home of Chicago soccer. It is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Michigan. Chicago is the largest city in Illinois, and 3rd largest in the United States overall. The population in this city reaches up to 2,896,016 according to data from a 2000 census. Chicago land, composed of Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, is considered a metropolitan area with a whooping 10 million population.

Soccer in Chicago is historic since it is considered as the stronghold of the soccer game in the United States of America . Imagine what highlights of soccer history took place in Chicago since the late 1800s. Soccer was brought to Chicago through the immigration of Europeans to the key American cities where industries were prosperous. From then on until the year 1920, the National Soccer League of Chicago was established. The successful Chicago Sting and currently the Chicago Fire of the Major League Soccer has given legions of soccer fans the thrill and excitement they look for in every game. Today Chicago is known to hold one of the strongest amateur leagues in the country and is the home of the United States Soccer Federation.
